Hello, I’m Vedang Asgaonkar

Machine learning, from foundations to scale.

I enjoy solving elegant problems in machine learning architecture and foundational models. I'm currently excited about the micro and macro of machine learning - interprettability and scaling laws.

Vedang Asgaonkar

Research

Machine learning methods for low-SNR time series, feature acquisition, and retrieval.

Systems

Practical work across low-latency computing, networks, operating systems, and hardware.

Teaching

Experience supporting courses in AI, algorithms, programming, and linear algebra.

A little more context

I studied computer science at IIT Bombay and have worked on research in active feature acquisition with Prof. Abir De, time-series retrieval with Prof. Sunita Sarawagi, evolutionary game theory at IST Austria, and data-science collaborations with IIMA and Stanford. I also interned in low-latency systems at Optiver Amsterdam. I have worked as a quantitative researcher at Tower Research Capital, building signals and models for mid-frequency trading

Outside work, I enjoy elegant puzzles, conversations about social behaviour, behavioural economics and rationality, travelling, strength training, swimming, and ping-pong.
